Cropped Sports Bra & Leggings: Onzie

The weather in NYC has been horrible this week, so I’m taking us back to a December warm spell. I took full advantage of the toasty temps to rock my cropped sports-bra and lace-up for a run. I’ve been a runner for years and I’m always trying to find new ways to open my tight hips and loosen my joints. Yoga has really been helping balance my body, along with the following simple stretches, mid or post run.

Runners Lunge–  Stand with feet hip-width apart, step right foot forward into a wide lunge position. Bend your right knee, rest your torso on your right thigh and place your hands on either side of your foot. Keep your left leg straight behind you balanced on the ball of your foot. Press hips down towards the ground to stretch the front of your left hip. To go deeper, move your right foot forward a little at a time. Hold for 10-30 seconds. (Repeat on opposite side.)

-Hamstring Stretch- Lie on your back with your legs extended, hips level and lower back on the floor. Bend your right knee towards your chest, keeping your left leg extended on the floor. Slowly straighten and gently pull your leg towards you while keeping both hips on the floor. Hold for 10-30 seconds. (Repeat on opposite side.)

-Quadricep Stretch-  Keep feet hip-width apart, back straight and feet parallel. Reach back and grab your left foot with left hand, keeping thighs lined up next to each other and left leg in line with the hip. Hold for 10-30 seconds. (Repeat on opposite side.)

Happy Running, Sporties!

XOXO,
NYC
