Beauty:

Firm & Fab

It’s red carpet and runway season in NYC! And dipping necklines and exposed skin have been all the rage. But you don’t have to be envious of your favorite celeb’s glowing skin and toned upper body. You can get just as “red carpet ready” with just a few steps. Here’s some simple tips to get you going!

First, start with specific exercises to help tone your neck and chest area, to appear thinner and elongated. I recommend Wall Angels because they’re easy, effective, and can be done right in your living room!
Start standing, feet hips width apart, your back against a wall, arms extended out to the side with your elbows bent 90 degrees, palms facing forward.
Then, while keeping your entire backside against the wall, slide your arms straight up overhead. Start with 10 reps, and then progress to 2 sets of 15 reps.

When it comes to skincare, I connected with NYC Dermatologist Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali to find out what he recommends to his patients. “It’s important to give the décolletage just as much attention as you would your face. So first, use a gentle exfoliating cleanser on the area. If you’re using one on your face, you can simply extend it all the way down to your neck and upper chest area. By doing this you are removing a layer of dead skin and prepping your skin to absorb active ingredients quickly. Next, I recommend adding a hydrating cream to your routine.”

A great new product I’m loving is the RoC® MULTI CORREXION® 5 in 1 Chest, Neck & Face Cream with broad spectrum SPF 30. It absorbs quickly, which is key in dry, cold temps. And, it’s packed with Vitamin E and contains a Technology called Hexinol to help with discoloration, dryness, dull skin and wrinkles, in just four weeks!

Once you start toning and treating skin in this area—show it off! There’s a bunch of options from day to night looks, it’s just a matter of finding what works best for you. A deep-V can help elongate your neckline, but if that’s too revealing, try a top that has a split neck to expose just a hint of skin. Finally, if you’re always on-the-go, a classic wrap dress works for the office to a night out. It’s always in style and super flattering to show off all that hard work keeping your chest in tip top shape.

Now go be fabulous!

XOXO,
NYC
