Raise The Barre

If you follow my instagram account you probably saw me teasing some pics during my Core Fusion barre teacher training sessions at exhale in NYC. I had the amazing opportunity to take module 1 & 2 ( 40 hours) with the co-creators of the Core Fusion program at exhale, Fred Devito & Elisabeth Halfpapp. With an extensive fitness and health background, they standout in the industry and push for their students to learn and experience correct and safe form on the barre and in the classroom. Their contagious energy motivates each and every student to engage and put their full effort into every workout—both mind and body. I felt their passion throughout as they shared unique teaching techniques and the importance of anatomy and how it helps them to create classes and routines that benefit the body over time. Barre, if done incorrectly, can do more harm than good, so I wanted to learn from the best most qualified experts in this field.

The Core Fusion barre program teaches how to properly set up positions, build sequences, mesh movement to music and teach an entire 60-minute barre class with the proper techniques for hands on adjustments, modifications for injuries and pregnancy. And most of all, we learned the importance of the relationship and experience that you create and develop with your students to provide an awesome experience, both physically and mentally.

There’s still more to learn and lots to practice, but I passed the first two modules and the written exam and hope to continue on to module 3 later this year. I’m not sure just yet how I will apply my certification to my life, whether I teach or use my skills to better my own experience, or both! But I’ll be sure to share all as I grow and develop from this exciting journey.

Nice photos! I’ve always wanted to try Barre! Being a group fitness instructor and health coach, I feel like I should probably at least give Barre a try! 🙂 Thanks for the pro tips!
