Get Dirty!

Guess what?!? I got down and dirty last weekend with St. Ives for my first Mudderella! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but since I’m a long-time runner and I’m always up for an adventure and a hard-core physical challenge, this seemed like the perfect match! What really lured me in was that at the end of the race, there was a “Rinse & Revive” station where we could scrub up with yummy smelling body washes and lotions from St. Ives to restore our skin and defy dullness.
We started with a quick warmup to get our muscles moving and then the games began! The first few obstacles weren’t too hard, but we still had to get face down and crawl under wire to make it through mile 1. It was all about team work, high energy and lots of physical (and mental) strength. I found a few fierce friends to buddy up with and we charged through the challenges like champs together. Some hurdles were harder than others, like “Ain’t No Mountain High”, where we had to trample through some of the thickest mud mounds and puddles on the planet! Next up, was “Tough Tatas” where we climbing up the side of one wall and back down the other with ropes and very narrow foot holds. We kept our pace steady and strong, and never looked back. Along the way there were other crazy encounters that required balance and bravery, like swinging from tire to tire for “Wheels in Motion” and sliding through dark narrow tunnels for the “Skinny Jeans” obstacle.
Finally, after 5 miles in the mud and lots of strength and determination, we made it to the finish line and were welcomed with warm outdoor showers to get our skin hydrated and back to glowing. The Oatmeal & Shea Body Wash felt amazing as I lathered up my legs, while the Apricot Scrub helped me combat all that caked on grime on my face in a gentle, yet effective way. I was skeptical that I’d ever be dirt-free again, but the St.Ives cleansing stations had my bod looking brilliant when we were all done.
I’m super psyched that I stepped out of my comfort zone to get down, dirty and daring! Stay strong and shine bright, Sporties.

XOXO,
NYC
