Spartan Sweat

Another mud race to check off my list! And only a few months after the first Mudderella that I completed this past April. I signed up with the TomTom team to do the Tri-State New Jersey Super Spartan Race in Vernon, NJ this summer. But this time the course was much more intense and quite a few miles longer (8.8 miles)! So, to toughen up, we trained together as a team in Central Park to get psyched and in-shape using our TomTom Multi‐Sport GPS  watches in order to help track our heart rate and progress during the months leading up to the big day. The watch used TomTom technology to map the courses beforehand, showing us the distance and elevations that we would be encountering during our adventure. So we were more than prepared to get down and dirty, staying strong the whole way.
The course was at Mountain Creek Ski Resort so the terrain was rough and rugged with some extremely steep inclines, slopes and valleys. There were crazy obstacles to conquer like rope climbs over mud pools, fire pit jumps, barbed wire crawls, heavy log carries (UPHILL), wall climbs and tons of running in the mud! All that practice and team spirit payed off because we finished the course with just a few scratches and all smiles in 3 hours, with plenty more energy to spare. And having a buddy the whole way definitely makes it much more fun. So, I think I can officially say I’m ready to take on the next level of mud racing if anyone wants to challenge me!?!
Who’s ready to play dirty?

XOXO,
NYC

I love the NJ Spartan Race in Vernon! My boyfriend and I have completed this race twice (including the first year when it was 13 miles!) and it’s such an accomplishment! Can’t wait to do it again, though maybe not in April. That lake will be pretty chilly in the spring!
