Remix Your Workout!

“Remix Your Workout” to WIN a free pair of ASICS fuzeXTM  kicks…..Read on!

As most of you know from reading my blog and following my adventures on INSTA ,  I’m a huge fan of almost every physical activity that comes my way and am always looking for a fun fitness challenge. So, when ASICS asked me to take part in their “Remix Your Workout” challenge, I was super psyched to put their new fuzeXTM TR kicks to the test by doing 5 different workouts in 5 days!

From new beach yoga flows, to biking, HIIT programs and of course, running, I was motivated to move in different ways each day and sweat in style to burn some calories.

The weather has been amaze these last few weeks so that always inspires me to keep my sweat-seshes outdoors and take advantage of pleasant temps and fresh air. So, this past weekend I laced-up and put my new sneaks to the test for a sunny spin while soaking up some vitamin D in the process. The sneakers felt super light, easy to move in and oh-so-stylish. I could easily go from my bike to brunch without missing a beat. The refreshing color combo plays perfectly with my new ASICS gear, but they are sleek and streamlined enough that I can easily wear them with jeans and a cute bomber jacket around town.

Next up I felt the need to get some strength training in and my heart rate up. So, I went outside and logged into my friend and fitness expert, Hannah Davis’s (AKA, BODY BY HANNAH) online Operation Bikini Body Training Program for a fast and effective routine that I can do anytime, anywhere. The sneakers did not disappoint! Even with lots of lunging, jumping and stretching I was able to keep my pace up without my feet feeling clunky or limiting my movement. I could easily transition from each position and felt stable and strong in the process.

For workout #3, I decided to focus on my breath and movement with some new yoga sequences and poses. I am constantly trying to balance my tightly wound muscles from running with lengthening and strengthening my bod with yoga. And, I can’t help but mix in some challenging inversions and core strengthening balancing to keep me on my toes. I usually go barefoot for yoga, but I was trying something new and decided to play on new surfaces at the beach that called for a bit more stability, especially on rocky and sandy terrain. I was pleasantly surprised at how wearing the new fuzeXTM sneakers seamlessly worked with my routine and helped me to balance better with my beach flow.

Workout #4 consisted of taking advantage of existing objects like benches, bars and stairs for a quick 20-minute toning session. I try to strengthen my arms and legs in different ways to enhance my running, so pull-ups and stair running are great ways to boost my endurance. Once again, my Asics did not disappoint during a speedy stair sequence with lots of climbing, cardio and a cool down.

And finally, my favorite way to workout …. running! I have been running in ASICS sneakers for as long as I can remember but this is a different style sneaker for me. I usually run in the ASICS Gel Kayano(R) model so I was a bit hesitant to go for my usual 6 mile run in the FuzeX TR model. However, I actually loved the light-weight construction of the sneaker that still had plenty of support for my stride. I’m happy to say, I can now switch up my running sneakers during the week to keep me on my toes and work new muscles that I normally wouldn’t, even when doing a workout my body knows well.

Hope this inspires you all to get moving and try something fun and new with your fitness routine!

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing fun pics on INSTA on how I’m challenging myself with these different workouts and great ways to break a sweat.
