Sporty & Scar-Free

With my active outdoorsy lifestyle, summer weekends are jam-packed with running, biking, surfing and lots of fitness fun! But there’s sometimes a price to pay for my love of all things adventurous. I tend to get banged up with scrapes and occasional bruises from biking, surfing and beach sports on the sand. But I wouldn’t change a thing, I just have to be mindful of how I take care of my skin along the way. I’ve been putting Mederma® Advanced Scar Gel to the test for a few months now on my surfer knees (it’s a real thing), along with some of my stubborn older scars and a few new scrapes that I’ve acquired since the warm weather kicked in. For me it’s hard to keep my bod scratch-free so this is the next best thing! 

 

The gel goes on clear and smooth and is super easy to stash in my purse or even my pocket! So no matter what exciting excursion I might be taking part in, I can pop this little tube in my bag to feel safe. I’ve been trying to consistently apply it daily, especially on older scars. But for the newer ones, it’s important to be sure my skin isn’t broken when applying and all scabs are healed first.

So far I’ve noticed some lightening on stubborn spots that I’ve had for a bit and couldn’t get rid of in the past. So I’m motivated to keep at it and hopefully watch scars fade more over time.

I can’t say that I’ll be slowing up or opting out of these high-energy activities any time soon, so for now I’m keeping my Mederma® on hand so I can play away-worry free!
