Yoga Play in the Palms

Flashback to more fun yoga adventures in Bali with my bud & yoga instructor, Lauren. We hit the hot tropics for two weeks of healthy living, lots of yoga and also made time for a little extra fun! I always love practicing new partner yoga poses, and this was the perfect trip to take full advantage of trying out some tricks. When we weren’t hiking up a mountain, riding bikes or in an actual yoga class, we would head outside and start the fitness fun. It’s a great way to stay active while having fun when hanging with your girlfriends.

One thing I’m always working on is my handstand, but I find that in order to hold it for more than 10 seconds without the help of a wall, I have to strengthen all my other postures and supporting muscles as well. It’s a building and strengthening process that helps to improve the entire body in order to get to the end goal. And, it’s important to stay super focused and determined, and never give up.

Starting with simple partner poses (pictured above), along with a routine yoga practice, will keep your core, legs and upper body strong and stable. I learned headstand and forearm stand the same way, and now I can hold those postures, no problem, and am now working my way up to more advanced variations. It’s a great way to challenge both your body and mind, and having a friend for support always makes it much more fun.

After working our bods, it was time to step out of the sun and get refreshed with some tropical sips and snacks for a little girl time under the palm trees. It’s always great to chat and catchup on all the craziness of our busy lives, even in Bali.
Cheers to friends and fun!

XOXO,
NYC
