Skin Deep

Summertime can really take a toll on our skin, especially if you’re in the sun and salt as much as I am. So, I’m always up for using a skincare line that can help cleanse, exfoliate and hydrate without stripping away natural oils or aggravating my already sensitive skin. Think simple, effective and hard core, just like my workouts!

I used Clinique products waaaay back in high school when I first started craving “grown up” beauty products and have been a loyal customer ever since. I remember going with my mom to the “Clinique Counter” at the mall to get her favorite makeup and moisturizers. That’s when I started getting the itch to have my own mini regimen. Fast forward to 2015 and I’m still a fan and loving their simple three-step-system for the summer season.

First, I cleanse with the Liquid Facial Soap  to get rid of all the sweat and sunblock that’s left on my face after a day of surfing, running, yoga or any of other outdoor activities I crave. I use the combination/ oily cleanser to do the trick and combat dirt. It gently lathers and leaves my skin grime-free and soft, ready for step 2.

Next, after washing my face (morning and night), the Clarifying Lotion  gently exfoliates and keep my pores as unclogged as possible in the heat and humidity. It’s super gentle so I don’t have to worry about getting irritated, especially since I’m sometimes exposed to the sun for longer than I’d like to admit when I’m paddling out in the waves. My is left clean and calm, free of any redness and ready to hydrate.

Finally, to plump-up and nourish, I like to moisturize with something a little lighter and less creamy during the hot summer months. That’s where the Turnaround Revitalizing Lotion  comes into play. It’s got just what my skin needs to keep it feeling fresh and glowing without layering on heavy products. And, it’s alcohol free so no dry spots here! Just clean, soft, summer skin.
