More fitness fun in NYC last week with a successful #Summerslam event! I had the exciting opportunity to hang with WWE Superstars, Dolph Ziggler and Charlotte, at JCPenney in the Manhattan Mall for the launch of WWE’s Tapout performance apparel line for women. The Brand Ambassadors, (Dolph & Charlotte) were super sweet, (don’t let their strong, tough appearance fool you), making some time to chat with hundreds of fans after they answered questions from the media. Of course that meant a few fitness tips for me, WOOT! So, I asked them what they could suggest for a quick, yet effective workout routine when I might not have access to a gym or studio. (AKA when I’m at the beach house!)
Dolph recommended running on the beach— which I love to do! But, he added some extra steps to make my workout more challenging. “Running on the sand, you can take half the time and half the distance to burn just as many calories as you would on a treadmill and it works totally different muscles.” – DOLPH
To blast fat fast and work the butt, they both agreed that it’s all about squatting, calf raises and lunges. So, off I went to the surf and sand to test out the cool new gear this past weekend with a beach workout. I mixed incline running on soft sand with speed sprints on wet sand, then alternated lunges and squats for a beach-body burn. I felt my muscles working overtime and the next morning my sore limbs proved that I gave it 100%!
And finally, one of my fave quotes of the day was from Charlotte… “Abs are made in the kitchen” 🙂 HA, So true!
Watch those calories, girls and keep those muscles moving!
The women’s WWE Tapout collection includes compression tees, tank tops, sports bras, leggings and shorts priced from $12.99 – $29.99. ( They have men’s gear too!) Check it out at at jcpenney.com
